The Roundhouse is steeped in the history of UK popular music and the new “container city” office block has allowed the Roundhouse Trust to move out of the rented offices it has occupied since 2006. Powersun installed 120 panels with a Samil inverter and the system is monitored by a Meteocontrol datalogger, giving full remote access to all data.

- CO2 saving – 14 tonnes
Built in 1846 as a turntable engine shed, the Roundhouse hosted concerts by, among others, Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones, The Doors, David Bowie and Jimi Hendrix and now runs as a charity, with a creative programme for 11-25s through the Roundhouse Trust. From 2006 to 2012 the Trust has taught over 13,000 11- to 25-year-olds in live music, circus, theatre and new media. Courses are held in the Roundhouse Studios, which include a music recording suite, film production rooms, TV and radio studios and rehearsal rooms, all located underneath the Main Space. The new office building is constructed from 71 upcycled shipping containers, and is inherently sustainable, both in construction and operation.
