Batteries are multi-talented. When they are installed without a micro-generation system, then they can store energy from the grid during off-peak hours and the owner can use the stored energy during peak times, making a significant saving per kWh.

As well as this, batteries will allow solar microgenerators to store unused green energy and use it during peak hours.  They can also be retrofitted to existing solar PV systems, further to exploit the green energy generated.
